A return to traditional woodworking
originating in Maine, USA
Thomas Lie-Nielsen founded Lie-Nielsen Toolworks in 1981.
He wanted to manufacture premium quality tools and revive discontinued tools for the modern woodworker
All Lie-Nielsen tools are crafted with superior materials such as ductile iron, manganese bronze, and cryogenically treated A2 tool steel. Lie-Nielsen Toolworks prides itself on local sourcing and exceptional craftsmanship from its Maine factory.
Why buy from Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Australia?
Nearly all the brands we stock are exclusive to us.
We have exclusive rights to sell Lie-Nielsen Tools in Australia and New Zealand. We’ve worked with tools our whole life, Lie-Nielsen are one of the few companies that deliver on their promise every time, no compromise. We’re proud to be the only Australian Lie-Nielsen dealership. You won’t find this quality anywhere else in Australia.
All our woodworking tools are heirloom quality.
What does that mean? It means they’ll last more than one lifetime. They’re built to be passed from one generation to the next, only requiring routine maintenance. Quality tools are a responsible and sustainable choice in our throw-away society, that is dominated by disposable items.
