Why buy from Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Australia?

Nearly all the brands we stock are exclusive to us.

We have the exclusive rights to sell Lie-Nielsen Tools in Australia and New Zealand.

Auriou

Auriou has been renowned for making quality tools for generations.

Its origins date back to 1856 in Châtenay-Malabry, near Paris. Michel Auriou is a 4th generation rasp and riffler maker. When you buy an Auriou rasp or riffler, you buy a precision hand-crafted woodworking instrument.

Blue Spruce

Blue Spruce Toolworks designs and manufactures the finest quality hand tools for the discriminating woodworker.

Their tools are a return to the cabinet shops of old, where beautiful works were created by skilful craftspeople. The tools combined form with function, and were a joy to use. When completed, the master craftsperson would hand sign their work, knowing their work would be used and enjoyed for generations.

Crucible Tools

Crucible Tools makes hand tools in the United States using proven materials and (in many cases) new technology.

All of their tools are designed by their woodworkers to be used at the workbench every day.

Founded in 2021 by Devon Campbell, Ironbark tools are designed and handmade in Queensland, using Australian materials.

iStor

Josef A. Schefer invented the original iSTOR Swiss Sharrpener® in the early nineties.

The sharpener is 100% Swiss-made and has been synonymous with Swiss quality for over 20 years. Its quality and universal functionality make it a useful tool for the home, garden and workplace.

Knew Concepts Tools

Knew Concepts was founded by Lee Marshall, ‘the saw guy’! A particularly good toolmaker based in California.

Lee started making presses, and aluminium and titanium saws for the US jewellery trade, and finally, woodworkers fret saws.

We love using Lee’s saws to clean out dovetails, shaping and other tasks. His saws are by far the best we’ve seen. We stock the world-renowned Pegas saw blades for Knew Concept saws

Lie-Nielsen

Lie-Nielsen Toolworks was established in Maine, in 1988 and now manufactures and markets a range of tools; from planes, saws, chisels, instructional DVDs, and specialist woodworking tools.

We have sold Lie-Nielsen’s tools and have developed a great respect and love for his tools and his staff. The company’s attention to detail and quality is refreshing in this age of price-driven tool quality.

Their tools are guaranteed for life and are a joy to use. We stock the full range of Lie-Nielsen tools along with the associated products Lie-Nielsen Toolworks USA sells. We also carry a range of spares to support Lie-Nielsen customers in Australia & New Zealand.

Lost Art Press Crucible Tools

Lost Art Press LLC is a small publishing company in Kentucky, helping modern woodworkers learn traditional hand-tool skills. Founders Lucy May, Christopher Schwarz and John Hoffman are trying to restore the balance between hand and machine work by unearthing the lost art of hand skills and explaining how to integrate them with modern shop machinery to quickly produce crisp, well-proportioned, sturdy furniture.

Christopher Schwarz is the former editor of Popular Woodworking Magazine and is now a contributing editor. He’s also a contributing editor to The Fine Tool Journal and has produced several DVDs with Lie-Nielsen ToolWorks.

Montrose Tooling

We make some of our own tools and accessories when we believe something useful is missing in a range, or because we’re having trouble with supply. In some cases, these tools may be only temporarily available while supply problems are sorted. Or they’ll be limited-run items or specials.

In all cases, they’ll be made here in Australia.
